THE TRUTH ABOUT "THE GREEN NEW DEAL"

Everyone has different positions on the environment, however, "The Green New Deal", which this administration supports, is one that will devastate all of our lives and how we live them.  I will try to provide several links with information regarding the "windmills" and also the argument for "all electric vehicles" as well as solar.

WINDMILLS

Of course we have all seen the photos and what has happened in Texas regarding the "windmills". While they are an excellent additional source of energy in the "sunshine states", California, Florida, Texas etc. they still have various drawbacks as follows:

As we have seen in Texas, when they are exposed to severe weather, such as snow and ice, they freeze up and are put out of service.  In addition, most people do not know that even with these windmills, the bearings that operate the propellers have to e lubricated with oil and, of course, that is a product of "fossil fuel" which AOC, among others, want to eliminate.  They must the maintained and lubricated on an extensive basis to ensure that they keep operating.  In the snow and freezing temperatures, they freeze up.  As in Texas, the bearings may have to replaced, cleaned and furnished with new lubricant, which is at an extreme high cost.  In some areas, there are non operational windmills that are rusting and rotting away and not being removed and "littering" the landscape.

COVERTING TO ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES

In California, Governor Newsom has decreed that by 2035 ALL vehicles in the state will have to be "all electric" to provide "clean" cars.  There are other cities and states that are/will follow suit. However, that is not exactly the reality.

There are many issues with the batteries in these vehicles, which do have a lifespan and are not a "forever" item.  Once they have outlived their usefulness, they are discarded which creates a new problem, where to dump them?

The next issue we have is that the vehicles must be "plugged in" to recharge the batteries.  Here again, "fossil fuel" power plants are needed so that when you plug in the vehicle, it receives power to recharge the batteries. Of course there is nuclear power that could also be utilized.  Again, the "Green New Deal" does not want the use of fossil fuels; so where do you get the power to the electric outlet to charge your vehicle?

Next....say you want to drive from Los Angeles to Redding, CA 544 miles in a gas powered vehicle and should take approximately 8 hours.  In an all electric Tesla, at 544 miles, you would have to make many stops to recharge the vehicle at various charging stations, if you can find them, along the way,,,,,Depending on your model of Tesla and the type of charger you are using, charging a Tesla can take anywhere between six and twelve hours. The quickest charging time occurs within the battery's sweet spot, which is usually between 20% and 80% of a full charge.
